Jason is an enrolled member of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. He brings litigation experience representing tribes in federal and tribal courts. He has broad experience in litigation, tribal governance, Public Law 638 contracts, government-to-government consultation, housing, constitutional reform, hemp and cannabis, code drafting, and gaming. Jason is passionate about advocating for tribal sovereignty, autonomy, and resilience.
Jason studied Federal Indian Law and graduated from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2017 Magna Cum Laude. He participated in impact litigation and code drafting clinics and served as the Native American Law Student Association chapter president. In law school, he worked as a Managing Editor of the Mitchell Hamline Law Review, a law clerk for Anishinabe Legal Services, and a lay advocate in the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe’s Tribal Court.
Jason enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, and reading.
