Ethan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Oklahoma City University School of Law.  During law school, he served as the Articles Editor for the school’s law review. As a member of the school’s law journal, Ethan received the Managing Editor’s Award, and for his published Note, he was awarded the Salem Civil Liberties Award for written work. He interned for the Honorable Judge William Musseman in the Oklahoma Court of of Criminal Appeals, and for the Honorable Judge Suzanne Mitchell in the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma. Ethan also interned at the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Western District of Oklahoma. These experiences introduced him to issues related to criminal jurisdiction in Indian Country – especially in the wake of McGirt v. Oklahoma.

After law school, Ethan worked for the Colorado State Public Defender in Sterling, representing clients throughout eastern Colorado. Working as a public defender in rural eastern Colorado gave him perspective regarding the unique challenges faced by people living in rural communities.

Ethan grew up outside of Washington D.C and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Tech. His experience living near the nation’s capital showed him how decisions made in Washington D.C have significant consequences for those living across the entire country.

Ethan lives in Denver and in his free time enjoys all that Colorado has to offer, especially snowboarding, hiking, and live music.
