By August 31, 2021, tribal governments are required to provide an Interim Report to the U.S. Department of Treasury on the use of the Fiscal Recovery Funds provided under the American Rescue Plan Act. The Interim Report is a one-time initial overview of how tribal governments have used Fiscal Recovery Funds from March 3 to July 31, 2021.
Treasury recently published two guides to assist tribal governments with reporting. On June 24, 2021, Treasury published “Compliance and Reporting Guidance” to provide additional detail and clarification for compliance and reporting responsibilities under the Fiscal Recovery Funds program. This guidance document is available here.
In addition, on August 9, 2021, Treasury published a user guide for “Treasury’s Portal for Recipient Reporting.” This user guide provides step-by-step instructions to assist tribal governments with mandatory reporting requirements under the Fiscal Recovery Funds program. The user guide is available here.
The user guide includes detailed information on the Interim Report, which is due to Treasury by August 31, 2021. In addition to the Interim Report, tribal governments will be required to submit quarterly reports detailing their use of Fiscal Recovery Funds. The first quarterly report is due on October 31, 2021.
