On June 17, 2021, the Subcommittee for Indigenous Peoples of the United States — part of the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources — held a hearing titled, “Examining Federal Facilities in Indian Country.” The hearing focused on the significant need to improve infrastructure in Indian Country to provide basic services to tribal members, including health care, education, and law enforcement.

Tribes are encouraged to file written testimony describing the condition of federal facilities on their lands. This testimony will be included in the official hearing record. Written testimony is due to the subcommittee by July 1, 2021.
