Patterson Real Bird & Rasmussen LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Senior Associate Attorney Susanne Holloway to the firm’s Louisville, Colorado office.
Susanne joins the firm with extensive experience in administrative law, Federal civil law enforcement, health law, and civil rights. Her practice will focus on Federal Indian Law, General Counsel Services, and Administrative Law, where she will draw on her background advocating for equity, justice, and the protection of individual and Tribal rights.
Prior to joining Patterson Real Bird & Rasmussen LLP, Susanne served as an Investigator/Equal Opportunity Specialist with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights. In that role, she ensured compliance with Federal nondiscrimination and health information privacy laws while conducting investigations involving complex civil rights and healthcare matters. Her experience also includes investigations, civil litigation, international law, and Indigenous Peoples rights. Before beginning her legal career, Susanne worked in a variety of roles with nonprofit organizations in Australia, Colorado, and Massachusetts, developing her a lifelong commitment to public service and advocacy.
Susanne earned her Juris Doctor, along with an American Indian Law Certificate, from the University of Colorado Law School. She also holds a Master of Arts in Public Theology from United Theological College and a Master of International Studies from the University of Sydney, both completed while she was living and working in Australia. She received her Bachelor of Arts in History from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.
Originally from Broomfield, Colorado, Susanne now lives in Boulder with her husband, Burl, and their two children. She is admitted to practice law in New Mexico and is a member of the State Bar Association of New Mexico and the Colorado Women’s Bar Association.
Susanne is passionate about advocacy, equity, human rights, and justice, and is committed to advancing the Native Law Group’s mission and of promoting Tribal self-determination, equality, property rights, culture, religion, health, and economic well-being. Her diverse legal and professional background strengthens the firm’s ability to serve Tribal Nations, tribal organizations, and Native communities throughout the United States.
