Patterson Earnhart Real Bird & Wilson LLP is proud to announce the opening of its Great Plains office in Fort Yates, North Dakota. Attorney Erin Shanley, who joined Native Law Group in October as its newest partner, is managing the new office.

According to partner Jeremy Patterson, Native Law Group is working to build on the success of its existing locations in Louisville, Colorado, and Washington, D.C., and expand on the services it provides to Indian Country. The new office will provide comprehensive legal services to Indian tribes, tribal entities, and individuals throughout the Great Plains.

“We are happy to announce that our Great Plains office is open for business,” Patterson said. “Under partner Erin Shanley’s direction, this new office will allow Native Law Group to better serve the needs of our clients throughout the Great Plains. As a member of a Great Plains tribe, this new office is particularly significant to me, and I know our clients will greatly benefit from the tremendous resources and expertise we are able to provide through this office.”

Native Law Group is committed to providing the tribes that call the Great Plains home with increased access to legal services in support of tribal sovereignty and self-determination, promoting economic and infrastructure development, and protecting tribal resources.

“I am excited to join a team of distinguished lawyers who serve Indian Country nationwide,” said partner Erin Shanley. “Our Great Plains office on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation represents Native Law Group’s commitment to making legal services accessible and responsive to the needs of Indian tribes. As a lawyer dedicated to the practice of Indian law, it is extremely important to me that we are able to be on site, providing legal services to Indian tribes, tribal agencies, and tribal entities.”

Shanley is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe and is licensed to practice law in Montana, North Dakota, and numerous tribal courts. She received her law degree from the University of Montana School of Law and has extensive experience  serving tribal governments.
