Native Law Group Welcomes New Associate Rebecca Plumage

Patterson Earnhart Real Bird & Wilson LLP is pleased to announce the addition of a new associate attorney Rebecca Plumage, who joined the Louisville, Colorado office on August 1, 2023.

“We are thrilled to have Becky join the team,” said partner Jeremy Patterson. “Her knowledge and experience will be a tremendous asset to the firm and the clients in which we serve.”

Becky is a member of the Nakoda Nation.  She has focused her work in Indian law and policy on community and economic development and Indian child welfare.  Becky is committed to advancing the sovereignty of Native nations.

Prior to joining the firm, Becky was a Research Fellow for the NYU-Yale American Indian Sovereignty Project. As a fellow, she focused on the historical background of legal issues related to Native sovereignty before the U.S. Supreme Court in support of multiple amicus briefs and published a series of articles on her team’s work.

Becky received her master’s degree in social work from Washington University in St. Louis with a concentration in working with American Indian and Alaska Native communities.  She received her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. While in law school, she clerked for a Denver-based law firm working on Native law and policy issues, and she participated in the Sturm College of Law Tribal Wills project.

Becky is from Pierre, South Dakota. She enjoys exploring national parks, listening to live music, and participating in competitive dart leagues.
